CFA: Plato’s Theory of Soul

The Czech Plato Society is pleased to announce the XIVth Symposium Platonicum Pragense on Plato’s Theory of Soul. The conference will be held on 19–21 October 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic. The Czech Plato Society has organised international and national conferences on Plato’s philosophy since 1997.

We invite submissions of abstracts on any topic related to Plato’s Theory of Soul. Submissions should focus on substantive discussion and generally avoid being introductory or merely describing state of the art. We especially welcome papers discussing the topic throughout several dialogues.

Please submit abstracts of maximum 1500 words to praguesoul2023@gmail.com, accompanied by your academic CV in a separate document, by 7 May 2023. Submissions can be in English, German or French. To facilitate blind review, please prepare the abstract with all identifying information withheld.

Successful applicants will be notified by 30 June 2023. Successful applicants will be offered up to 30 minutes to present their paper, followed by 40 minutes of general discussion. After the selection and review process, the conference proceedings will be published within Brill’s Plato Studies Series.The organisers will provide accommodation on an individual basis.
